You must first determine your skin type to assess how your "StarTan" will look. The "skin type" breakdown can be somewhat vague, so here is a guide to help you decide. StarTan is a "Self Adjusting" sunless tanner, adjusting to your individual skin type coloring.
TYPE I: ALWAYS BURNS, NEVER TANS
Your skin only reddens and freckles. This is the most challenging skin for "Sun Sprays". Sunless tanners on this delicate skin can tend to look very "fake". For this reason, we suggest only minimal tanning, light to medium. You will very likely be thrilled to actually have a tan!
TYPE II: BURNS EASILY, TANS MINIMALLY
"StarTan" was made for you! You can go light, medium or dark. Avoid extremely dark tanning that will not look good on you.
TYPE III: BURNS MODERATELY, TANS GRADUALLY TO LIGHT TAN
"StarTan" will work extremely well for you. You can go medium, dark to very dark.
TYPE IV: BURNS MINIMALLY, ALWAYS TANS WELL TO MODERATELY BROWN
It is very tempting for you to tan naturally because you can get a dark tan fast with little or no burning. Just a couple of hours in the sun will give you a warm glow. For you, dark and very dark tanning is complimentary to your skin.
TYPE V: RARELY BURNS, ALWAYS TANS TO A VERY BROWN TO DARK BROWN
It is not imperative that you get a "StarTan", but it is nice to even out your skin tone and get a nice all over glow, especially at the beginning of the summer, before you get out in public in those skimpy outfits!
